Dr. Edwin Feliciano is a well-respected psychiatrist and the Behavioral Health Director at University of California-Santa Barba Student Health. Dr. Feliciano works with UCSB students to ensure mental wellness. UCSB Student Health provides a number of mental health services, including drug and alcohol counseling, social services, and psychiatry services. Dr. Edwin Feliciano has been a trusted professional in the world of healthcare for more than 25 years. His previous role before coming to UCSB was as the Medical Director of the Alcohol, Drug, and Mental Health Services Department for Santa Barbara County.
In regard to fields of interest, Dr. Edwin Feliciano has tirelessly worked to see improvements in issues of access to healthcare for individuals with psychiatric and substance use disorders. He has also advocated for the integration of mental health, substance use, and medical services in primary care settings.
Dr. Feliciano studied at the University of Puerto Rico. He would then go on to complete his psychiatry residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center, which is located in Philadelphia. Finally, he served as the Chief Resident at Trenton Psychiatric Hospital. In recent years, Dr. Feliciano completed two-year training at the California HealthCare Foundation (CHCF) Leadership Program, which was designed to prepare clinically-trained healthcare professionals for leadership roles in the California healthcare system. Dr. Feliciano maintains a leadership role at UCSB where he hopes to promote prevention and recovery from mental health and substance use conditions.
